Solemnity of the Body and Blood of the Lord

Corpus Christi Webcard
Location:
Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis
Date:
Sunday, June 6, 2021 - 12:00pm

The words “Corpus Christi” mean “Body of Christ” and are another name for the “Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ” celebrated on the Sunday after Trinity Sunday. This solemnity marks with particular emphasis the doctrine of Christ’s real presence—body, blood, soul, and divinity—in the Eucharist. And when the Eucharist is carried through the streets in solemn procession, it serves as a public witness of faith and worship of the Most Blessed Sacrament by all Christians.

All are invited to join Archbishop Mitchell Rozanski and the priests of the Cathedral Basilica for the traditional Corpus Christi Procession following the 12:00 noon Mass on Sunday, June 6.  Altars dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Joseph will be set up on the grand plazas of the Cathedral Basilica & the Catholic Charities building.Corpus Christ Crowd 2020
