The Rite of Confirmation
Confirmation perfects Baptismal grace; it is the sacrament which gives us the gift of the Holy Spirit in order to:
- root us more deeply in the divine filiation
- incorporate us more firmly into Christ
- strengthen our bond with the Church
- associate us more closely with her mission
- help us bear witness to the Christian faith in words accompanied by deeds.

Are you an adult that was raised Catholic and received the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism and Holy Communion) but never received Confirmation?
Whether child or adult, individuals/families who wish to schedule the sacrament of Confirmation should contact their local parish. If you are a parish administrator or confirmation coordinator and want to schedule a confirmation at the Cathedral Basilica, please contact the Archdiocesan Office of Sacred Worship at 314-792-7231.
